Clutchtime is an iPhone and iPad app that lets you follow esports teams and players and get an alert before their matches. This page explains, in plain language, what data the app uses.
In short: there is no account, your favorites stay on your device, and we know neither your name nor your email address. If you turn on alerts, our server keeps only what it needs to send them.
ProtoJo Digital (Johan Quille, sole proprietorship), France. Contact: contact@protojo.fr. Full details are in the legal notice on protojo.fr (in French).
This information is not sent to us and is removed when you delete the app:
The app does not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera. “Add to calendar” opens the iOS event sheet: you confirm the event yourself, and the app never reads your calendar.
Alerts are sent by our server. For that purpose, and only if you allowed notifications and follow at least one team or competition, it stores:
| Data | What it is for |
|---|---|
| A random identifier generated by the app | Recognizing your device without knowing who you are |
| The notification token provided by Apple | Delivering the alert to you |
| The app language and your time zone | Writing the alert in the right language and respecting your quiet hours |
| Your alert settings and quiet hours | Sending only the alerts you want |
| The teams and competitions you follow, and matches you muted | Knowing which matches to alert you about |
| The Lock Screen score token, for the duration of a match | Updating the score on your Lock Screen |
Legal basis: performance of the service you request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
Retention: everything is deleted as soon as you no longer follow anything or turn off all alerts, when Apple tells us the token is no longer valid (for example after you delete the app), and at the latest after 90 days without hearing from your device. The Lock Screen token is deleted when the match ends.
Some of these providers are based in the United States. When data is transferred there, it is under the safeguards provided by the GDPR (adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses).
The current version of the app shows no ads.
A future version may show ads provided by Google AdMob, in match lists only, never on a match page or around the video player. In that case:
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Google acts under its own rules: how Google uses data.
When offered, this purchase will be processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment information, name or email address. “Restore purchases” brings it back on your other devices using the same Apple account.
The app may be used by minors. It does not ask them for any personal information. If you are under 15, ask a parent before accepting personalized advertising.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.
This page is updated when the app changes, in particular when advertising is introduced. The date at the top shows the latest change.
